What is a Blue Chip Stock?
There is no precise definition of a 'blue chip' stock. The term is generally used to describe a stock that is superior to others in terms of performance, dividends and yields. They are the stocks of a well-established who has a record of earning capacity stable over several decades, and an equally long record and the transparency of the payment of dividends to shareholders.
These stocks are named after a special chip used in the game that is blue and has the highest value. Different characteristics of this stock is that it is well proven and has an excellent reputation for both good and bad times. It should also have a high credit rating of the bond and commercial paper markets and a large size relative to the stock market as a whole in terms of income and capital market.
The "blue chip" status granted to a company is a dynamic phenomenon and not a well-established classification. There is a large cap stock that is considered a safe bet in the long term. Because they are accustomed to pay dividends well and are easy to mix in an emergency because they have an extensive product range and diversified global presence. As you can see, they are at the opposite end of the scale of the low stock price and volatility Penny.
There are several ways different from blue chip and mid cap stocks small cap. All small-cap stocks will be volatile, but this does not to chip stocks. In fact, volatility is relatively unknown in blue chip stocks because they are large cap stocks. This is a term coined by the investment community and refers to a company with a market capitalization of more than ten billion U.S. dollars. Capitalization market is calculated by multiplying the number of outstanding shares of a company by the stock price per share.
You buy safe securities of several different ways. You can buy directly from a known dealer or through a mutual fund that specializes in these stocks. In addition, diamond is an investment vehicle traded on the American Stock Exchange. The diamonds are preferable to Blue Chip mutual funds because of their low expense ratio as well as their tax efficiency. Because they are traded, the underlying shares do are sold only to reflect a change in the companies that make up the Dow Jones. This results in capital gains taxes lower.
