What does the button "mean when playing Texas Hold'em?
I am a little confused about it. I know that everything is going clockwise. So, let's say the person sitting 6'oclock is the small blind, so that the person is at 7:00, good big blind? If yes, then the person is at 8:00, will be the first "act" does this mean that person is "on the button?" I also heard that "button" is the broker, well, what if I play poker tournaments? it does not make sense to me. Can anyone help? Oh, I always thought of the person after the BB was the first to do so. So what you are saying is that nobody on the left of the button will first no matter who is BB?
Here's how it works ... The dealer (in tournament play, the player facing the dealer does not pay, but the player is in position to say last dealer to act, dealt with the last) has a white button in front of them that says "dealer". The player immediately to the left of the dealer is the small blind. The player immediately to the left of the small blind is the big blind. The player immediately to the left of the big blind is first to act. first act is always the player immediately to the big blinds left. So in your scenario, dealer (the button) is sitting at 5, SB 6, 7 bb, and the first act 8. The only time the player with the button is first to act when they play head high. In crowds, the player on the button (in the dealer position) is low blind, the other player is big blind and the dealer is first to act pre flop. After the flop of the other player is the first to act.
