What happened to Binion's Horseshoe Subscribe (Downtown Las Vegas Casino) with the big bills in it?
I heard they took the sign down and I wondered what ever happened. They used to be located near the door aside and had my photo was taken several times. They have a kind of postcard stamp on the back of it and you can send it to the family and friends. I just thought it was cool and wanted to know if it's still there. All information on this spirit enquirering would be appreciated. Thank you, Mike h.
- Benny Binions children tried to run after his death, and his daughter Becky Binion finally took control. They sold the bill for large collectors. Becky went bankrupt in 2004 and was purchased by a partnership including Harrah's and a horse trail from West Virginia and Society casinos. Harrah's wanted the "World Series of Poker" and the brand names Horshoe they have promoted. They do not care about the casino. The West Virginia company continued to lose money growing on the place until they sold a few months ago to a local investor (Terry Caudill) this year. - Local investors have also bought the losing money Four Queens Casino across the street and managed to transform into a profitable business, and he hopes to extend this success to Binion's (legal terms can not be called "The Horshoe" over Harrah's bought this brand name). They make the renovations. ----------------- The Casino has a great nostalgic feeling for many people who want to remember when the casinos were owned by people who were marginal on the side of the law. Benny Binion was thrown in prison for tax evasion and he led the place with his family. Many people do not understand the sign.
