Elvis and Priscilla were married May 1, 1967, nearly eight years after their courtship began. The wedding was private, and it was held at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Priscilla wore a white beaded gown and veil. The veil was attached to his hair, which has been called in the popular "beehive" style. The veil was three feet long. Her hair was dyed black. In addition to his hair, was sat a rhinestone crown. Elvis wore a black tuxedo that he was fine. Elvis had two best men, Marty Lacker and Joe Esposito Maid. Priscilla of honor was his sister Michelle. Elvis was thirty-two years and Priscilla was twenty-one years.
The ceremony was in the morning and lasted approximately eight years. minutes. During the ceremony there was a small amount of guests. The ceremony was followed by a press conference. Following the press conference, a breakfast was held. There were 100 guests for reception. The cake was six levels. Their first dance as husband and wife was the song "Love Me Tender."
After marriage, the two left to moon honey in Palm Springs, California for a vacation for a few days. They remained at 1350 Ladera Circle in a big house. The site is now available for guided tours. You can even use it for your own honeymoon or wedding. Upon arrival Elvis showed his romantic side Priscilla picking up and carrying it over the threshold. In doing so, he sang "The Hawaiian Wedding Song."
The house where Elvis was leased to the honeymoon by himself for a year. manager Elvis' Tom Parker lived in the region and made the suggestion Elvis honeymoon here, because thought it would be ideal for him to relax and enjoy the company of friends.
Famous Hollywood gossip columnist Rona Barrett lived nearby and became suspicious of a marriage when many family members arrived in Palm Springs April 29, 1967. Rona has made contact with the right home and was able to confirm that the two were set to marry May 1, 1967. She made an announcement on his TV show night that the two were prepared to be married.
The two planned to have their wedding at the estate in Palm Springs. However, media storm forced them to change their plans. The morning of the wedding, the two men sneaking out the back door of their heritage and find a Limousine on Rose Avenue. Upon arrival at Rose Avenue, there was Limousines prepared to drive them and the wedding party at the airport.
Elvis Frank Sinatra lent his private jet, "Christina." By 4:00 the two arrived already obtained their marriage license. Marriage has actually occurred at 9:40 in the Alladin Hotel in the owner's suite. The same day, the couple left for their honeymoon, back in Palm Springs California. Another interesting point is that Lisa Marie, the first daughter of Elvis and Priscilla was born exactly nine months after the date of the honeymoon.
