What is a Comp Card?
A comp card is the abbreviation of "composite card and is also known as a 'z card 'or game card "and even the map of Zed. According to Wikipedia, the printed card model is a marketing tool used mainly by actors, models and agents to represent them every time they go out for casting purposes. They are a marketing tool inexpensive but effective way of presenting model building.
A card layout is a sort of calling card for these people.
Comp card printing started in 1965 by a Londoner who created composite pattern printed on A4 paper. The designer then registered the trademark "composite model" in Europe and the United States. The format was redesigned in 1972, then give way to a business card size A5. This helped produce composites by modeling agencies. A small number of firms others also began to print maps of model for the model industry. In 1990, Marlowe Press (named after the leading creator of maps comp) stopped trading cards and model becomes generic words in the modeling world. In recent years, creating tools for card printing model became widely available online.
A model card printing is usually a minimum of two photos. It include a cover page with a life-size portrait of the model, and another page where you will find a selection of photos and plans to complete the portfolio model. The second page also includes statistical model, for example, size, weight, bust size, hip size, color of eyes and hair, nationality, and the main contact information. Generally, they are printed on both sides of a card stock 8.5 "by 5.5.
So how do models and casting agents print comp cards? Currently, there are different options available in creating comp cards. They can ask their photographer or do on their own. They can also use the software today modify and improve the selection of images for these cards. There is a lot of graphic software available offline and that any model or agent to facilitate the printing and ordering process. Comp card printing costs vary depending on the tools used and the number of photos on the map. The type of cardstock can also affect the price and print quality maps.
