That active managers have managed a World Series against former teammate?
With Cecil Cooper is the name of the official Houston Astros, he created a clash against the Ned Yost and the Milwaukee Brewers. They played together in the 1982 World Series for the Brewers.
The key word here is "active". Lou Piniella and Willie Randolph played together in the World Series in 1977, '78, '81 and. They faced each other as managers 7 times this season, Randolph had a 5-2 advantage. Th other asset managers to set teammates were the ones you mentioned, Yost and Cooper, Yost with take 2 of 3. There really are not many active managers who have played in the World Series. Even Joe Torre, proabably the most successful player from active managers, has never played in a series, but he succeeded in a few. The only other addition to the two pairs above are teammate Bud Black (85) Bruce Bochy ('84), Ozzie Guillen (99), Clint Hurdle ('80), Mike Scioscia ('81, '88), I'm sure many other Series succeeded teammates against each other thoughout history.
